Jazz and Folk music are two very important genres in American history, and they share a common ancestor - the blues.  2024 JazzBuffalo Vocal Jazz poll winner Vanessa Vacanti brings these genres together in their modern forms to create something new and exciting - a jazz/folk fusion experience.  The jazz talents and improvisations of singer Vanessa Vacanti mixed with the American roots expertise of Boston based fiddler (and sister) Cecilia Vacanti will create a dynamic and exciting show for the Pausa stage.  Come listen to new and favorite tunes performed in a way you've never imagined.

Cecilia Vacanti is a Boston based, multi-styled fiddler who has "mesmerized" reviewers with her debut album, Earth's Dark Shore. She is a member of the nationally touring contra dance band "Kingfisher", and is a sought after fiddler for contra dances all over the Northeast.  Cecilia has studied jazz and folk with amazing musicians such as Jeremy Kittel, Jason Anick, and Darol Anger.

Matthew Vacanti is a three time SAMMY award winning bassist from Syracuse, New York.  He is the first call jazz bassist in Central New York, and is a founding member of the modern jazz group ESP.  Vacanti has toured the world with his groups, from New Mexico, to Belgium, to Italy.

Ian Liedke was voted "Jazz Piano Player of the Year" by the 2024 Jazz Buffalo Poll.  He is a composer and music director who has made waves through the Buffalo community with his music, known for his versatility and improvisation.  From New York to Buffalo, he has shared his compositions with audiences across the state.
