Participants will join Munawara Sultana and learn to make Chicken Tikka Masala the way it's made in her home country of Pakistan! Chicken Tikka Masala is a chicken dish prepared in a tomato based gravy paired with Basmati Rice using spices from Pakistan. Pieces of chicken are marinated in yogurt and traditional spices such as cumin, coriander, turmeric, garam masala, ginger, and garlic. The marinated chicken is then grilled or pan-seared until lightly charred, creating the signature tikka flavor. It is simmered in a velvety tomato-based gravy enriched with onions, cream, and spices.

In this cooking class, participants will:
*Learn how to make Pakistani Chicken Tikka Masala with Basmati Rice
*Engage in knife cuts
*Receive a detailed recipe and knowledge to recreate this dish at home
*Prepare and eat a meal together

About the Instructor:
Munawara Sultana, who came to the USA three years ago, is an expert home cook who loves to share the food and culinary knowledge of her homeland. When she is not cooking up tasty food for family and friends, she works as an artisan at Stitch Buffalo and as an interpreter for the International Institute of Buffalo. Muna has recently registered her food business as Muna's Traditions, and was awarded the MAP Raising the Roots Seasonal Chef of the Year Award in 2024!

About the Venue
Parking: Starting at 6 pm, you cannot park on the south side of Massachusetts Avenue (the same side as MAP). The parking rule changes right at 6, and there is no parking available right in front of MAP. There is usually parking available on side streets, Shields and Brayton (1 side of each street).

MAP Thursday Market: MAP will be hosting their Thursday Farmhouse Market from 3-6pm. They have a selection of fresh produce, as well as eggs, herbs, mushrooms, honey, flowers, preserved goods, beauty products, and more! Feel free to come early to check it out!
