This year’s Dr. Jack Mack Lecture in Astronomy and Planetary Science will be given by author, journalist, and broadcaster David Baron, whose presentation, Martians and the Human Mind, will take place in Buffalo State University’s Science and Mathematics Complex 6:30 – 7:30 pm on Friday, November 14.
Doors open at 6:00 pm
A former science correspondent for NPR and recent chair in astrobiology at the Library of Congress, David’s latest works focus on astronomy and its impacts on society. His new book, The Martians, explores the “Mars craze” at the turn of the last century, when the public came to believe in the existence of Martians—a myth that helped launch us into space.
Following the presentation, join us for a dessert reception and book signing by the author. Books will be available for purchase at a 20% discount price of $23.99 plus tax.
