Well, now! If you know Cafe Gezellig proprietor Ethan Cox well at all, you know that among his favorite political hobby horses is, yes, electoral reform and especially the implementation of alternative voting systems-- including (but not limited to) Ranked Choice voting systems such as IRV. There's a lot of reasons to think they produce better outcomes than what we do now, which is generally termed "first-past-the-post" or "simple majority" voting. So, come by the Cafe on 4/27, and we'll talk about IRV. I'll prepare a small slide deck and find a few fun videos, and then we'll have a super quick and easy mock RCV activity, with some beverage samples to rate and vote for. I'll show you how easy it really is to both understand and implement Instant Runoff Voting. Doors 6:30, presentation at 7:00, voting ends at 7:45 with results at 8:00.
