This half-day program explores various subjects including art, science, botany, and gardening with differing themes each week. Garden Explorers will enjoy hands-on learning from our seasoned educators and get behind-the-scenes looks at our amazing plant collections housed in the historic Lord and Burnham Conservatory.

Week 1: Junior Botanists | July 6 – 10, 2026 | 9am–12pm

Junior Botanists will dive headfirst into each area of our living collections, starting with our fascinating Tropical Orchard specimens and ending on a note of Zen with beautiful Bonsais. Orchid dissections, grafting cacti and hands-on harvests in our beloved Farm Garden are what’s in store for these plant-y explorers. Each day, Junior Botanists will make, plant, or create a botanically relevant item to bring home.
