After the noon High Mass at St. Stanislaus Church, the Polish Saturday School is hosting its 70th annual Jasełka (Christmas Pageant) with over fifty (50) youth & adult students at the St. Stanislaus Social Center around 1:30pm, which will be followed by a traditional Babcia-made Wigilia (Christmas Eve) meatless meal featuring pierogi, kapusta, barszcz, paszczeciki, baked fish, and desserts around 2:30pm! Święty Mikołaj (Santa) will make an appearance and provide gifts to the children. Following the traditional program around 3:00pm, "Captain Tom & the Hooligans" will take the stage to keep the party going with live Christmas music. The bar will be open for the day featuring Polish beer, Polish vodka, various wines, Nalewka, grzaniec, and soft drinks along with Mister Pizza & Polish snacks for purchase. All patrons are reminded to drink responsibly, and that ID is required at the bar.
The event will host a festive Basket Raffle with Polish toys, delicacies, & decor, and a Premium Raffle featuring Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra tickets donated by the BPO, a raffle for a "Polonia Movie Night" package including a 75" flat screen TV donated by West Herr Auto Group, a four-seat VIP Concourse Table for a concert donated by ArtPark, and more to come! The Rivard Family has also donated 1st, 2nd & 3rd Door Prizes at $150, $75 & $25...each of which also comes with a wrapped surprise!
Full event fee is $25 per person, with pre-sale tables of 10 available for $230. All proceeds benefit the Polish School, a 501c3 charitable nonprofit, which is tax deductible, and St. Stanislaus Church, Polonia's Mother Church.
