- **Event Description**: My dad, Kenneth “Kenny” Massey, is a very hard working man, he is also very stubborn. I have been trying to get him to go to the dr for several months due to swollen lymph nodes he had on both sides of his neck. But him being the father and husband he is, he didn’t want to take off work. I made him a doctor’s appointment and told him he was going. December 18th, 2025 started off as what we thought was just a new primary care doctor visit. This was the day our world flipped upside down. Dad ended up with critical labs, ended up at teays valley ER and transferred to Memorial due to his white blood cell count being so high. Dad spent many days and nights in ICU, a lot of blood work was drawn, a bone marrow biopsy and lymph nodes biopsy were both performed. We finally were given his diagnosis. CLL(chronic lymphocytic leukemia.) He was started on chemo in the hospital and thankfully he is handling the medication very well. Due to dad starting chemo, he has to be off work for a period of time. Dad being the main provider for his wife and 6 kids at home he does not like being home, and his pay has decreased due to being on short term disability. My parents are not one to ask for help. I wanted to put this together to help them during this difficult time and would love for everyone to join us.
