Melvin played with the Jerry Garcia Band from 1980 until Jerry's passing in 1995, bringing his signature gospel-influenced organ sound to the group. He then became the torchbearer of Jerry’s legacy, forming Melvin Seals & JGB to keep the spirit of his music alive.
