Whale Week is a 7-day retreat by The Pressure Project, created to immerse you in the heart of the humpback whale migration along Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
Running during peak migration season from June to October, this unique experience offers daily ocean access aboard our own vessel, Ocean Rose, with a maximum of just 6 guests. This makes Whale Week one of the most intimate, ethical, and immersive whale swim offerings in Australia. Led by Australian freediver, mindfulness coach, and Pressure Project founder Adam Sellars, the retreat is guided by an experienced ocean team focused on safety, presence, and connection.
This isn’t a standard whale swim tour. It’s a retreat built around the power of repetition, time in nature, and meaningful interaction. Rather than a single morning or afternoon in the water, Whale Week gives you seven days to witness the migration unfold—naturally, on whale time.
That extra time makes all the difference.
Conditions change, animals move, and the ocean has its own rhythm. One swim might offer a brief glimpse. Another might deliver an extraordinary encounter you’ll never forget. Over a week, you get space to slow down, learn whale behaviour, and start moving with true awareness. Each day builds on the last—more comfort in the water, more confidence reading the body language of a whale, more depth in your own breath and presence.
You’re not just ticking a box. You’re immersing yourself in a journey of ocean connection, where meaningful moments can happen when you least expect them. This kind of experience is only possible in a retreat format—with time, trust, and the right team behind you. We believe that when people feel deeply connected to something, they are far more likely to want to protect it. That’s what Whale Week is truly about.
