Italians literally ‘live to eat’ and are ever creative using simple basic ingredients - otherwise known as ‘cucina povera’ in Italy. Ingredient staples are either homegrown or sourced locally from neighbours and markets so always seasonal, flavourful and wholesome. It’s therefore no secret that the Mediterranean diet is literally one of the healthiest you can follow. The combinations of simple flavours speak volumes about how well Italians know their cuisine and the very reason that Sardinia just happens to also be one of the Blue Zones countries.
