Több mint ezer koncerttel a háta mögött, a jamaicai zenei kultúrát mélyen tisztelő és hitelesen képviselő művész új albumával járja a világot – és egyik kiemelt állomása Budapest.
Az eredetileg szicíliai származású Alberto D’Ascola, vagyis Pupa Albo, több mint húsz éve él Jamaicában, és azóta is a roots reggae, a dub, a raggamuffin és a dancehall világát formálja saját, egyedi hangzásával. Olyan himnuszok fűződnek a nevéhez, mint a Kingston Town vagy a Herbalist, és az ikonikus Soul Pirate album.
Alborosie nemcsak előadó, hanem producer is: együtt dolgozott többek között Buju Bantonnal, Kabaka Pyramiddel, The Wailers Uniteddel és Ky-Mani Marleyval is. 2024-ben új lemezével, a Dub Pirate-tal tért vissza, amely a klasszikus Soul Pirate dalait dolgozza fel. Reggae powerhouse Alborosie is coming to Budapest!
With over 100 million streams and 10 million monthly listeners in 2024, Alborosie stands as one of the most influential and authentic voices of modern reggae. Following over 1,000 shows worldwide, he hits the road again to celebrate his brand-new album – with one of the stops being Akvárium Klub. Born in Sicily as Alberto D’Ascola, Alborosie has lived in Jamaica for over two decades, fully embracing and contributing to its culture. From Kingston Town to Herbalist and the cult classic Soul Pirate album, his sound bridges roots reggae, dub, dancehall and raggamuffin with unmatched authenticity and soul. A true craftsman, he’s also produced and collaborated with some of reggae’s greatest names – including Buju Banton, Kabaka Pyramid, Ky-Mani Marley, The Wailers United, and more. His latest release, Dub Pirate (2024), reimagines Soul Pirate through deep, hypnotic dub reinterpretations. On stage with his legendary band, the Shengen Clan, Alborosie delivers electrifying live performances, blending conscious lyrics, raw emotion, and timeless reggae energy.
