Ne manquez pas cette soirée dédiée à la génération X, au grunge-indie-rock et aux reprises acoustiques mélodieuses. Spike LeBloke, poète punk acoustique et vétéran de la scène open mic à Buckingham, Ottawa et Londres, en Angleterre, sera accompagné de ses camarades et frères spirituels de son ancien groupe SWAY. Le bassiste Norm the Storm viendra de Toronto et le guitariste principal Paul « the flower in the barrel of the gun » Lafleur fera le trajet depuis Montréal avec le batteur invité Kevin. Bien avant la naissance de Spike, il était le leader du groupe montréalais SWAY, qui animait les loft parties et les bars perdus au milieu des années 1990 et qui a sorti en 1995 un album classique qui reste figé comme un fossile sur des CD perdus. La soirée débutera par des reprises acoustiques de chansons de Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, Cat Stevens et bien d'autres, suivies d'un concert rock avec le groupe au complet, qui interprétera des chansons originales de Sway et du prochain album de Spike LeBloke, Every Riff Tells a Story. Avec le grand Johnny Hayes à la sonorisation.
Don’t miss this night of original Gen X, grunge-indie-rock and mellow acoustic covers. Spike LeBloke, acoustic punk-poet and a veteran of the open mic scene in Buckingham, Ottawa and London, England, will be joined by bandmates and spiritual brothers from former band SWAY. Bassist Norm the Storm is coming in from Toronto and lead guitarist Paul ‘the flower in the barrel of the gun’ Lafleur is driving in from Montreal with guest drummer Kevin. Long before Spike was born, he was frontman for Montreal-based SWAY, rocking loft parties and lost bars in the mid-1990s and releasing a classic album in 1995 that remains frozen like a fossil on lost CDs. The evening will begin with acoustic covers of songs by Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, Cat Stevens and more, followed by a full-band rock out featuring original songs from Sway and Spike LeBloke’s soon-to-be-released album Every Riff Tells a Story. With the great Johnny Hayes on sound.
