Many may recall keeping a diary in our youth. Why now might be a good time to continue, begin again, or start for the very first time? Ruth Writer has family journals dating back to the 1890s and continues the family tradition daily. She will share some of these as examples.
The first class will focus on journaling styles while answering questions such as why now, how to begin, when, and where to journal. One concern might be, “What could I possibly write about in a journal?” To assist with that question some prompts will be provided.
Studies show journaling has many benefits including physical and
mental wellbeing. Journaling can provide an avenue for expressing thoughts and emotions. It can be therapeutic.
During the first class, a lucky winner will receive a journal to start
writing or sketching. The second segment in the following week will focus on progress and any questions. One such question just might be how to keep a routine going.
