New 4K Restoration! In this white-knuckle procedural, industrialist Gondo (Toshirô Mifune) receives a ransom note demanding a fortune for his child’s life—only the kidnapper has accidentally grabbed his chauffeur’s son. Will Gondo sacrifice all he has to do the right thing?

The screening on Tuesday, December 2, will be presented in conjunction with the sold out film course Akira Kurosawa’s Film Noir: Adaptation and Reinvention, taught by Paul Wright, Ph.D.
