- **Event Description**: Join us on this Women's only course to build skills and confidence to independently explore the hills!About this EventJoin Us for Women's Hills Skills!This practical course will help you to develop a range of hill skills and navigation techniques to keep you safe on your adventures.What will be covered?Map reading, route planning, navigation practice, compass use and how to move confidently over varied terrain.This is a relaxed, supportive easy paced day and led by a female instructor. The session will be based at Meelmore Lodge which has car parking, toilets and cafe facilities.This course is ideal for women who want to build confidence exploring the outdoors along with like minded others. Most of the course will be held outdoors so please come prepared for the conditions on the day.What to bring?RucksackWarm layers of clothingWaterproof jacket and waterproof trousersWalking boots/ fell trainersHat/ glovesMap/ Compass (if you have one - if not you can borrow one)Water/ drinksSuncreamPacked lunch/ snacksSpare clothes in case of bad weatherAny essential medicationsTimings10.00 - Meet and introductions (Meelmore Lodge)10.15 - Morning session (Introduction to hill skills at Meelmore Lodge before a practical session in the hills)13.00 - Lunch break12.30 - Afternoon session (Further outdoor practice session in the hills)16.00 - De-brief/ next steps16.30 - FinishThis event is being organised by The Outdoor Partnership.
