Yet this region, so essential to life, remains largely absent from the world's narratives. On the occasion of the ???????? ?? ???? ????, we invite you to an exceptional evening of cinema, exchange and reflection on the future of the Congo Basin and those who are already protecting it. Through Fanyatu's journey across the Great Lakes to the Rwenzori Mountains and to the Atlantic Ocean, the film explores a different reality of the Congo. That of communities who, in the face of ecological, economic and social challenges, choose to act together to regenerate their territories. Far more than an environmental documentary, TOZA BATU tells the story of the birth of a movement. A movement born within local communities, where inspiration becomes awareness, awareness becomes action, and where millions of trees begin to grow because women and men have started to believe that another future is possible. The film also traces the birth of the Fanyatu method: an approach to regeneration co-built with communities, grounded in autonomy, knowledge transfer and the capacity of local populations to become the primary drivers of the transformation of their own territories. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion (ENGL) offering cross-disciplinary perspectives on the future of the Congo Basin, bringing together voices from science, conservation, green finance and community-led regeneration. The evening will also be an opportunity to present the Congo Basin Regeneration Initiative (CBRI), developed with the support of Positive Impact Team (PIT), an initiative aimed at supporting the regeneration of one million hectares through approaches deeply rooted in local communities. In a world marked by uncertainty, TOZA BATU offers another perspective: what if the most powerful solutions came from those the world looks at the least? Directed and filmed by T.D.
