Ces deux dernières années ont vu The Orchestra (For Now) connaître une ascension fulgurante, digne des rêves les plus ambitieux. Avant même la sortie officielle d’un premier single, le groupe se produisait déjà sur la scène principale du Green Man Festival, à End Of The Road, et enchaînait des concerts en tête d’affiche à guichets fermés. Forgée sur le circuit live londonien, leur musique s’est rapidement imposée comme un phénomène de bouche-à-oreille incontournable.

Début 2025, la sortie du premier EP Plan 75 marque un véritable tournant. Porté par une approche maximaliste de ce qu’ils décrivent eux-mêmes comme du « London prog », le groupe mêle rock avant-gardiste et théâtralité, dialogues classiques, indie baroque pastoral, dynamiques post-hardcore et échappées jazz. L’EP déclenche l’enthousiasme des critiques (NME, DIY, Rolling Stone, Clash, Billboard…) et de leur public, au point de remplir l’Institute of Contemporary Arts à Londres pour leur concert de sortie.

Avec Plan 76, paru à l’automne suivant, The Orchestra (For Now) pousse encore plus loin cette vision foisonnante. Les compositions restent imprévisibles mais toujours traversées de mélodies accrocheuses, tandis que l’humour et les références à la culture populaire se déploient dans un écrin sonore plus affirmé, où la fragilité initiale se mue en confiance musicale assumée.

De afgelopen twee jaar heeft The Orchestra (For Now) een bliksemsnelle opmars gemaakt, die zelfs de meest ambitieuze dromen overtreft. Nog voor de officiële release van hun eerste single trad de groep al op op het hoofdpodium van het Green Man Festival, op End Of The Road, en speelde  ze een reeks uitverkochte concerten als headliner. Hun muziek, gesmeed in het Londense livecircuit, werd al snel een fenomeen dat via mond-tot-mondreclame onontkoombaar werd. Begin 2025 markeerde de release van hun eerste EP ‘Plan 75’ een echt keerpunt. Gedreven door een maximalistische benadering van wat ze zelf omschrijven als ‘London prog’, combineert de band avant-gardistische rock en theatraliteit, klassieke dialogen, pastorale barokke indie, post-hardcore dynamiek en jazz-uitstapjes.

De EP werd enthousiast onthaald door critici (NME, DIY, Rolling Stone, Clash, Billboard, …) en hun publiek, waardoor het Institute of Contemporary Arts in Londen volledig vol zat voor hun release concert. Met ‘Plan 76’, dat het volgende najaar uitkwam, gaat The Orchestra (For Now) nog een stap verder in deze rijke visie. De composities blijven onvoorspelbaar, maar worden nog steeds gekenmerkt door pakkende melodieën, terwijl de humor en verwijzingen naar de populaire cultuur zich ontvouwen in een meer uitgesproken geluid, waarin de aanvankelijke kwetsbaarheid verandert in zelfverzekerd muzikaal vertrouwen.
