Meet the Writer: Manon Garcia

French philosopher Manon Garcia, internationally recognised for her expertise in feminist thought, extends her thoughts on consent in her new book. In Vivre avec les hommes, she analyses the Mazan trial, which shook our consciences, with great acuity and accuracy.

Based on this emblematic trial, she explores the banality of sexist and sexual violence and questions our collective complicity in a captivating and engaging way. Her appeal to men to actively commit themselves to change resonates as a necessity.

Garcia is the author of several books, including We Are Not Born Submissive. How Patriarchy Shapes Women’s Lives (2018) and The Joy of Consent. A Philosophy of Good Sex (2021), which won the Prix 2022 des Rencontres Philosophiques de Monaco. She will be interviewed by Safia Kessas, journalist (RTBF).
