Pintjes is a limited-run zine by me and Brussels-based Irish artist Selkies celebrating the best of Brussels’ rich café culture. Edition #1 focused on the best downtown cafés and bruine kroegen, and Vol.2 gloried in Brussels’ best outdoor watering holes.
For volume number 3 - launching at Le Chaff on 11 December - we’re heading to the heart of Brussels, the true centre of the city and the repository of the last of its folk legends: Place du Jeu de Balle. Synonymous with the daily flea market, the square is ringed by a collection of eccentric, worn-in cafés. And for Pintjes #3 we did our best to visit every single one of them over the course of a Saturday.
Not only will you be able to buy copies of the zine - it’s an extremely limited run, we’re not posting it to people, and when it’s gone, IT’S GONE - at the launch, but we will also have limited edition prints for sale, and there is even talk of a short walking tour of the square and surrounding streets (more details to come).
If you want to reserve a copy - which can be collected on the night, and only then - you can email us at:
