Hippotraktor revient avec Stasis, un second album aussi dense que monumental, confirmant l’ascension du quintet belge depuis son remarqué premier disque Meridian (2021). À la croisée du metal progressif, du post-metal et d’un groove écrasant, le groupe façonne une œuvre cinématique, construite sur des riffs titanesques, des structures complexes et une tension atmosphérique constante.

Né comme un projet instrumental mené par le guitariste et producteur Chiaran Verheyden aux côtés de Jakob Fiszer et Lander De Nyn, Hippotraktor s’est progressivement transformé en formation complète avec l’arrivée de Sander Rom (guitare, chant) et Stefan De Graef (voix, percussions). Cette évolution a profondément enrichi leur langage sonore, donnant naissance à une dimension narrative plus affirmée et immersive.

Avec Stasis, le groupe poursuit son exploration des forces contrastées de la condition humaine à travers sept compositions intenses, où l’ampleur des arrangements rencontre une précision rythmique redoutable. Inspiré par la puissance de Meshuggah et l’atmosphère de Gojira, Hippotraktor confirme sa place parmi les voix les plus ambitieuses et singulières du metal progressif contemporain.

Hippotraktor keert terug met ‘Stasis’, een even compact als monumentaal tweede album dat de opmars van het Belgische kwintet sinds hun veelbesproken debuutalbum ‘Meridian’ (2021) bevestigt. Op het snijvlak van progressieve metal, post-metal en een overweldigende groove creëert de band een filmisch werk, opgebouwd uit titanische riffs, complexe structuren en een constante atmosferische spanning. De band begon als een instrumentaal project maar groeide geleidelijk uit tot een volledige band met de komst van Sander Rom en Stefan De Graef. Deze ontwikkeling heeft hun klanktaal aanzienlijk verrijkt en een meer uitgesproken en meeslepende verhalende dimensie gegeven.

Met ‘Stasis’ zet de band haar verkenning van de tegenstrijdige krachten van het menselijk bestaan voort via zeven intense composities, waarin de omvang van de arrangementen samengaat met een formidabele ritmische precisie. Geïnspireerd door de kracht van Meshuggah en de sfeer van Gojira, bevestigt Hippotraktor haar plaats onder de meest ambitieuze en eigenzinnige stemmen van de hedendaagse progressieve metal.
