Clarion est né presque par accident dans un local partagé de l’est de Los Angeles, lorsque Anthony Sanchez, Saya Oliva et Joseph commencent à écrire ensemble fin 2023 après plusieurs années passées dans la scène DIY locale. Enregistré en trois jours seulement, leur premier EP Clarion développe un son ample et immersif, entre shoegaze, post-punk et influences du rock japonais.

Pensé dans une logique artisanale et expérimentale, le disque multiplie les textures de guitares et les jeux de stéréo pour créer une impression de densité mouvante, où chaque morceau prend le temps de se déployer pleinement.

Le titre Hello Juliet propulse rapidement le groupe au-delà de la scène locale après le succès viral d’une vidéo sur TikTok. Entre mélancolie, regret et désir de recommencer, la chanson devient un point de bascule pour le trio, qui signe chez Broke Records en 2025 et enchaîne tournées et premières parties aux côtés de figures de la scène alternative américaine.

Aujourd’hui accompagné de Javier Flores à la batterie pour les concerts, Clarion poursuit son ascension avec Blue Fairy, nouvel EP qui confirme une écriture sensible et expansive, toujours profondément ancrée dans l’esprit communautaire et DIY qui a vu naître le groupe.

Clarion ontstond bijna bij toeval in een gedeelde studio in het oosten van Los Angeles, toen Anthony Sanchez, Saya Oliva en Joseph wind 2023 samen begonnen met schrijven, na een aantal jaren in de lokale DIY-scene te hebben doorgebracht. Hun eerste EP ‘Clarion’, die in slechts drie dagen werd opgenomen, heeft een weelderig en meeslepend geluid, dat het midden houdt tussen shoegaze, post-punk en invloeden uit de Japanse rock. De plaat is op ambachtelijke en experimentele wijze tot stand gekomen en maakt gebruik van diverse gitaartexturen en stereoeffecten om een gevoel van bewegende dichtheid te creëren, waarbij elk nummer de tijd neemt om zich volledig te ontvouwen.

Het nummer ‘Hello Juliet’ katapulteerde de band al snel buiten de lokale scene na het virale succes van een video op TikTok. Het nummer, dat schommelt tussen melancholie, spijt en het verlangen om opnieuw te beginnen, werd een keerpunt voor het trio, dat in 2025 een contract tekende bij Broke Records en vervolgens de ene na de andere tournee en voorprogramma’s afwerkte naast grote namen uit de Amerikaanse alternatieve scene. Clarion, dat tegenwoordig tijdens concerten wordt begeleid door Javier Flores op drums, zet zijn opmars voort met ‘Blue Fairy’, een nieuwe EP die getuigt van een gevoelige en uitbundige schrijfstijl, nog steeds diep geworteld in de gemeenschapszin en de DIY-mentaliteit waarmee de band is ontstaan.
