- **Event Name**: The Art and Science of Insect Pinning
- **Event Start and End Date**: Wed, 11 Nov, 2026 at 10:00 am – Wed, 11 Nov, 2026 at 11:30 am (-05:00)

You’ll meet Abbey Crossman, a coastal ecology researcher with Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant, who studies invertebrates and their vital role in healthy ecosystems. Through real examples from her fieldwork, you’ll learn how scientists observe, collect, and study everyday insects like beetles, butterflies and grasshoppers.

Participants will take part in a guided insect pinning demonstration using paper models, creating their own museum-style insect displays to take home.

All supplies for the craft will be provided.

Cost: $15. Registration is required. Content is best suited for children ages 7 and up, but all ages are welcome. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a registered adult.
