- **Event Description**: Melbourne band Flitcraft are returning in 2025 with their new full length album “Transmission Echo”, for a classic arvo gig at the Bergy Bandroom!

Flitcraft was formed around the music and artistic vision of singer / guitarist Phillip T. King, formerly of trad-metal band Galaxy and psych-hard rock band Butterfly. The music is heavy melodic rock like 70’s Priest or Scorpions, but also quirky and modern, giving it a progressive flair that somehow the term “progressive metal” doesn’t quite fit. 

After the 2022 debut “Our Long Journey to the Middle,” the band wasted no time in releasing the follow up “House at the Centre of the Universe” in 2023, a sci-fi narrative concept album equally indebted to Rush and Megadeth.

Partnering again with Pitch Black Records for a CD / LP / Digital release, “Transmission Echo” is an album that continues to define the mission statement of Flitcraft. The sci-fi, existentialist tinged lyrics are rife with themes of life and death, time and space, and pondering the great unknown. The music follows suit, being as adventurous and unusual as ever, yet still retaining melodies and rhythms you can grasp. 

After playing shows around Melbourne and at select interstate festivals over the last few years, Flitcraft will return after a long hiatus for a special matinee launch gig at the Bergy Bandroom on Saturday November 29th. Joining them for afternoon beer garden vibes and old school heavy metal noise will be local killers Aardvark and Cult of the Night.

Aardvark have made major waves over the last two years, releasing their debut album and gigging relentlessly in Australia and Europe. Their charming and authentic approach has garnered many fans and they will no doubt have a rousing set planned. Cult of the Night are a no frills speed metal band that have delighted Aussie fans since their debut EP “Dance of the Witches” in 2022. Bringing the perfect balance of B-movie horror and A-grade metal attitude, this band will kick off the arvo in appropriate
fashion.
