Lumen - Carols Reimagined

A Christmas concert with “Voce flair”, Lumen blends the ancient and modern with exciting new settings of traditional carols and contemporary original compositions. Lumen opens with bold and percussive arrangements of the late medieval carols
Personent Hodie and Gaudete, alternating with clever treatments of the Latin plainchants Veni Emmanuel and Conditor Alme Siderum.

The program continues with distinctive arrangements of well loved (but perhaps lesser known) carols from Germany, Norway, England, and Canada, interspersed with new compositions for Christmas (Sarah Quartel, Jacob Narvarud) and Chanukah (Yoni
Fogelman). Lumen concludes with a decidedly Gospel flavor, featuring a new spiritual by Stacey V. Gibbs and an inspired arrangement of Silent Night by J. Donald Dumpson.
