Intro to Clothing Alteration: Jeans and Pants (2-part class)
Teacher: Gennifer Majors, of Juniper & Art

Dates: Tuesdays June 9th & 16th
Time: 7:00 - 8:30pm
Location: Messy Bee Studio, 23 W. Potomac St, Brunswick, MD
Age: Teens and Adults with some sewing machine experience (limited to 5 students)
What to bring: Students are encouraged to bring 1 pair of jeans or unlined pants and their own sewing machine to the class. A limited number of sewing machines will be available for student use as needed.

Class Description: In this 2-part intermediate-level class, you will learn the skills you need to do the most common alterations and repairs on different types of pants. You will learn techniques for hemming, waist adjustments, leg tapering, and repairing seams and holes. By the end of the class, you will have the technical and practical experience needed to make your clothing truly you own!

About the teacher: Gennifer Majors is an experienced textile conservator and emerging textile artist who has spent the past decade studying and stitching on historic fabrics from around the world. This has made her passionate about the fun, care, and magic that can be found in something as simple as a piece of clothing. She loves to teach sewing workshops, and she also dabbles in a variety of niche hobbies - from textiles and painting to lapidary and gilding.
