Enjoy hearty bites and refreshments by Iris Eats of Harpswell as we gather at 6:00 pm (thank you for your RSVP below); a short Annual Meeting will begin at 6:30 pm, followed by an informative and visual presentation from our special guests Jennifer Neptune, basket maker and director of the Penobscot Nation Museum, and Erin Hutton, art advisor, curator and founder of Erin Hutton Projects. Jennifer and Erin will highlight their award-winning work on the Tekαkαpimək Contact Station
at Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument.

Tekαkαpimək Contact Station is located in the southern section of Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument, within the homeland and ancestral territory of Penobscot Nation. Interior and exterior exhibits designed from a Wabanaki worldview provide an introduction to the monument’s landscape and its significance. East of the parking lot, a gathering location known as the Eastern Lookout faces the rising sun and a view of all Wabanaki homelands. A deck on the west wing of the station allows for views of Katahdin, known as the "greatest mountain" in Wabanaki languages.
