ADAM GROPPMAN Comedy at the Side Door

Adam grew up in the Boston area and attended Reed College in Portland, Oregon. Upon returning to Boston after graduation, he had a variety of experiences, including being lead singer in a rock band called Furious George, working for Lotus Software, and writing music journalism. But after taking an improvisational comedic acting class while living in San Francisco, he realized his mission in life is to be funny– or serious. Or seriously funny. In that vein he moved to Los Angeles where he has acquired a taste for occasional light smog, melancholy arid beauty and Korean BBQ.

Adam has performed at the San Diego, Palm Springs, Ventura Harbor, Big Fire, Boston, Burbank and Vermont comedy festivals, and his short films have won acclaim at the Montreal JFL, HBO Aspen and Idyllwild festivals. Adam has a hit presentation in the national stage show & Simon & Schuster book ‘Mortified’ and has been in funny TV commercials for several national brands. He has also written for the LA Weekly, OC Register, LA Times and NY Times.
