Shaking Hand is een trio uit Manchester dat van een avontuurlijke mix van slowcore en postrock in verschillende tunings en maatsoorten hun handelsmerk heeft gemaakt. Daarbij laat de band zich inspireren door modernistische architectuur, 90’s altrock en midwestern emo. Zelf noemen ze acts als Slint, Sonic Youth en Pavement als invloeden voor hun meteen herkenbare, uitgepuurde bass-drum-gitaar sound, aangevuld met melodische kantjes die ze halen bij Big Thief en de dynamiek van Yo La Tengo. 

Op hun self-titled debuutplaat die eerder dit jaar uitkwam bewijst Shaking Hand dat ze al die invloeden op onnavolgbare manier in elkaar kunnen weven. Van slow burning indierock anthems tot op abstracte ritmes gebouwde post-hardcore: de hele plaat is een trip langs de meest spannende hoekjes van de experimentele rock.
