Met hun donker-maar-dansbare mix van poppy altrock en funky postpunk maakt OPROER grote stappen sinds ze in 2023 door Willy werden uitgeroepen tot ‘De Belofte’. Op basis van hun straffe livereputatie bouwt de groep aan een steeds groeiende fanbase, die steeds grotere zalen vult.

In oktober 2025 bracht OPROER hun tweede album 'The Catch' uit bij V2. Het is een plaat waarop de band dieper graaft en waarvoor frontman/tekstschrijver Dries van der Schueren inspiratie haalde uit een turbulente periode. Desondanks voelt de plaat niet zwaar, mede door de ingenieuze, catchy melodieën van Jérôme Pringiers en de strakke productie van Mathias Stal (Kids With Buns, ISE, Ramkot). 'The Catch' deed het ook goed bij de blogs: Dansende Beren schreef “een strakke plaat waarop je kan dansen met een traan” terwijl Luminous Dash 'The Catch' roemde als “een plaat vol energie, hoop en pop-sensibiliteit.”

Eerder in december stelde OPROER 'The Catch' voor in een uitverkochte AB, en in het voorjaar doen ze een reeks kleinere zalen aan. Brugge kan niet ontbreken!
