Memorials is een experimentele avantpopband uit Canterbury (UK), met een psychedelische sound die even melodisch als onconventioneel is. Hun inspiratie komt uit alle hoeken van
het muzikale spectrum: folk, postpunk, kosmische muziek, spiritual jazz, dub en progrock. 

Zangeres Verity Susman doet soms denken aan Nico, maar dan alsof Can in haar rug staat te spelen in plaats van The Velvet Underground. Samen met Matthew Simms bouwt ze de nummers van Memorials op met psychedelisch zoemende vintage synths, motorik beats en tape- en dub-effecten. Het mooiste is dat al die spielerei een goede song nooit in de weg staat. Integendeel: Memorials is catchy en zet je meteen in beweging. 

In 2024 bracht het duo hun debuutalbum Memorial Waterslides uit op het fijne indielabel FIRE Records (Throwing Muses, Sebadoh, Tropical Fuck Storm, Royal Trux…). De opvolger, All Clouds Bring Not Rain, staat gepland voor maart 2026. Kom ze ontdekken in Cactus Café!
