BASS DRUM OF DEATH
Bass Drum of Death is het project waarmee de Amerikaanse muzikant en songwriter John Barrett vanuit zijn hometown Oxford, Mississippi op regelmatige basis garagepunkjams op de wereld loslaat. Zijn snelle, catchy en rafelige gitaarsongs zijn schatplichtig aan voorvaderen als The Stooges, MC5 en The Ramones en nestelen zich comfy naast het werk van gelijkgestemden als Wavves, Fidlar, Jay Reatard en Osees.

Door de combinatie van snotterige punk, Buzzsaw gitaren en popmelodieën trapt Bass Drum of Death het gaspedaal meteen in. Ook live staat de groep steeds garant voor een solide punkfeestje waarbij de zweetdruppels van het plafond vallen.

Op zesde album 'SIX' profileert Bass Drum of Death zich als een trio, met naast John Barrett ook gitarist Jim Barrett en drummer Ian Kirkpatrick in de rangen. De songs werden opgenomen met GarageBand, een terugkeer naar de begindagen, en afgewerkt met producer Jeremy Ferguson in zijn Battle Studio’s in Nashville.

Het resultaat is een withete return to form van één van de leukste garagebands van de laatste 15 jaar. Ideaal voor een avondje over elkaar rollen in Cactus Café.

BLISTERS
BLISTERS is een nieuwe band uit West- en Oost-Vlaanderen die hun verschillende muzikale samen smijt in een mix van garagepunk, sociaal geëngageerde eighties hardcore en pompende noiserock.

Denk: echo’s van Cro-Mags, Minor Threat, Hüsker Du en Meat Wave die zich versmelten met the Jesus Lizard, Shellac, Slint en Butthole Surfers.
