(Valued at $80, free for you!)Food and Catering ProvidedInfo from the vendor:Hand‑Building with Texture: Workshop DescriptionThis workshop offers a relaxed and creative environment where participants can unwind and explore the tactile experience of working with clay. You’ll be introduced to the fundamentals of hand‑forming, with a focus on texture, pattern and surface.I’ll guide you through approachable techniques such as using clay slabs, coils and pinching. These methods give you the freedom to follow along with my demonstrations or develop your own ideas at your own pace.Pottery is a slow art and I will take care in finishing each piece. After the workshop, I will glaze and fire your work. Your completed ceramics will be ready for collection within a month of your class and all pieces will be microwave and dishwasher safe.Clay can be messy, so comfortable clothing is recommended. An apron will be provided for each participant.Looking forward to creating with you.Joanne Searle BioJoanne Searle has worked as an artist and educator in the Canberra region since graduating from the Canberra School of Art in 1999 with a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Ceramics) with First Class Honours.Her practice spans exhibitions, product design and production, and education. Joanne’s exhibition work has been shown widely across Australia and internationally, exploring the intersection of printmaking and ceramics and the evocative qualities of mark‑making on clay. Her research interests include the ways sound data can be translated into narratives of place.Joanne taught at the ANU School of Art and Design for 20 years.
