Each month we host a Volunteer Day where all are welcome to join, typically the first Saturday of the month from 10 am - 3 pm, take a look at our other events for specifics. We also host scout projects, group clean up hikes and hours for students.
As we continue our Indoor Cleaning and Organizing focus we are finding great teaching tools and lots of books! We are looking for leaders, teams, volunteers, clubs, who are interested in helping lead activities with them!
Rocketry, STEM, Snap Circuits, Robots..... we have lots of kits and supplies we need help leading family activities with! Reach out and we can set up a time to talk, give you a tour of the supplies and talk about ideas. Makers Day is March 21 and we would love to host Innovation Days more than once a year.
BOOKS: boy do we have alot of books, great history books, science, environment, Pinelands, nature, old historic books, new books, restoration and preservation books, cookbooks, growing plants, culture of New Jersey.....We have some great books (we just found a collection of gardening books from Susan Burpee Phillips). Do you like books? Organizing books into categories? Maybe leading a book group or reading to children? We have some great ones in our collection including big kids books and activity books for learning how to draw or observe birds. Reach out if you would like to help!
Trains! We have train sets that are a bit disorganized but trains are a big part of how people got to Whitesbog and how cranberries and blueberries got to market! Our General Store train display could use a refresh and we would love to have a train display for the holidays! Come check out the boxes of train parts, buildings, figures, trees, tracks and lots more.
As our cleaning project continues we will be moving supplies around in the Cottage 12 office, redesigning the exhibits in Cottage 10 and moving to the Barrel Factory and Cranberry & Blueberry Museum and Suningive! If you like old stuff and discovering cool things, this is for you!
