- **Event Description**: Urban Beets Cafe exists to make a difference by providing flavorful and healthy food without ingredients derived from animals, because we are passionate about protecting animal life of all kinds. 

We know everyone is feeling additional weight from the world right now, and we want to do our part to help.  When humans are constrained by economic shifts, it can be a very difficult when deciding what costs to spare.  Animals Shelters and the sweet souls in their sanctuary that rely on donations are equally at risk of losing the resources that sustain them, and we want to do what we can to rally support for their continued care.

We are grateful for the work of the volunteers at Second Hand Purrs, a No K*ll cat shelter located in Milwaukee that operates solely by volunteers and donations. A sanctuary for abandoned cats and kittens, Second Hand Purrs believes that every cat deserves a second chance at love. While we have several residents in long-term care, our goal is to place each animal in a loving forever-home. 

UB is hosting a FOOD & SUPPLY Drive and will gladly exchange a free smoothie, or 20% off a food order, for items donated to the cause during this event.  Please see the list below for items that are urgent needs, but please feel to reach out if you have questions about additional items not listed.  

**Second Hand Purrs is a 501(c)3, so all donations are tax deductible.**

-Canned Fancy Feast: Classic or Grilled, Poultry or Beef only

-Kitten Fancy Feast canned food - Please, turkey flavor only

-Clorox wipes (NO Lysol or generic wipes please)
-Hand Sanitizer

Volunteers from Second Hand Purrs will be present during the event to answer any questions about donations, volunteering, and other ways you can help if you feel inspired to learn more!
