- **Event Description**: Calling all frog lovers! Amphibian populations throughout the world are declining. Do you want to help? If so, join the Chinsegut Conservation Center FrogWatch Chapter (FL Frog Hoppers) and become a citizen scientist! As a citizen scientist you will have the opportunity to explore your local wetlands, learn to identify local frogs and toads by their calls, and contribute data to a long-term scientific study. 

Join us for this FREE training session! (Kids 8+ are welcome to join with an adult). We will go through a detailed PowerPoint about the frogs and toads of our area, followed by a hike down to May's Prairie to listen and identify local frogs in the wild.

Monitoring through FrogWatch USA can be an enriching experience that allows individuals to connect with nature while contributing to amphibian conservation efforts.

This is a training session for you to be a FrogWatch volunteer. As a volunteer, you will be expected to monitor a wetland area near you at least once a month (typically for 5-10 minutes), and to input the data you record at your site into an online database.

*Chinsegut has one track chair available on a first come, first serve basis for people with mobility challenges. If you'd like to participate in this program and feel like you would benefit from the use of the chair, please contact us to request an accommodation.
