Work-based learning experiences provide students with access to opportunities that support the development of "real-world" transferable skills that will prepare them for both in-school and community vocational and/or employment experiences. During this session, families will learn about the work-based learning options available through the Special Education Office and identify the requirements for participation. They will be presented with an overview on the Training Opportunities Program (TOP) as well as the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) and receive information that will facilitate their involvement in the application process. Additionally, families will have an opportunity to explore strategies for disability disclosure and advocating for reasonable workplace accomodations. Intended Audience: Parents/Guardians and Students/Families
NOTE: If you require interpretation services or other accommodations, please contact YmtseW50Y2FjIHwgc2Nob29scyAhIG55YyAhIGdvdg== at least one week prior to the workshop.
