In partnership with institutions across New York City, we're offering a fun-filled afternoon that honors those who fought and invites families to reflect on 250 years of American independence. Truly an event for all ages and all of history.This free, family-friendly event brings Revolutionary-era New York to life with:Costumed interpreters portraying Continental and British soldiers, camp followers, spies, and George and Martha Washington.Hands-on activities, including writing secret messages in invisible ink, making tricorn hats, and designing regimental flags.Displays and activities exploring Black, Indigenous, Dutch, and queer histories of the Revolutionary era.Live 18th-century music and storytelling.A parade to Battle Hill, where a commemorative ceremony will honor those who lost their lives in the battle.And so much more!The event will conclude with a keynote address from Brooklyn Borough Historian Asad Dandia.This program is part of Brooklyn 250 and Battle Week, organized by our friends at the.Brooklyn 250 is made possible with funding championed by Assemblymember Robert Carroll, Assemblymember Jo Anne Simon, and State Senator Andrew Gounardes.Price: Free.
