PREsearch emphasizes experimental design, lab skills, and thinking like a scientist. This program is a great entry point for students looking for an introduction to research, especially those hoping to pursue science opportunities over the summer. For students in grades 9-12.In this program, students will:learn how to use standard laboratory tools;learn and practice calculations commonly used in the laboratory;prepare and test chemical reagents;care for bacterial strains;practice experimental design, record keeping, and result interpretation; andexplore tools for literature search, poster presentation, and result communication.PREsearch will run April 6 - 10, 2026, from 10:30 AM - 4:00 PM each day, including lunch break. Students must bring their own lunches; no food is provided or available for purchase at the DNALC NYC.Scholarships are available upon request for families with financial need.
