What better way to savor and preserve the season's bounty than with pickling!About this EventLearn how to make and use delicious seasonal pickles like garlic, asparagus, beets, herbs and more with chef Ronna Welsh on Wednesday, May 20, at 7:30 PM EDT as part of the Coop’s monthly cooking series.The class will be in-person at the Coop and streamed online via Zoom. For in-person attendees, there is a $10 cash-only fee taken at the door to help cover the cost of ingredients. Attendees will get to interact with the chefs and sample the hot sauces!For the class, Ronna will introduce three favorite pickle brines to pair with a range of spring produce. She'll show off each pickle with a different bite to eat.Garlic cloves (tasting: pickled garlic dressing on collard greens)Asparagus (tasting: egg salad toast, walnut oil)Golden beets (tasting: labneh and walnuts)Herbs (tasting: ham and pickled parsley relish)Rhubarb (tasting: pulled pork and pickled rhubarb)--IF AVAILABLEAbout the ChefRonna Welsh is the chef and owner of , a beloved cooking school and event space in Sunset Park. She is also the author of the award-winning cookbook, . She has loved pickles all her life!Additional Class Information:RSVP COURTESY: If You Can't Make It, Please Tell Us!There is limited seating and a waitlist to attend this event in person. In order to give everyone a chance to participate, please cancel your RSVP as soon as possible if you know you cannot attend. We will admit walk-ins at the door if any seats are available. So even if it's last minute, please let us know if you can't make it!CASH-ONLY FEEPlease note that there is a cash-only fee of $10, accepted at the door. Please bring exact change.MASKINGWhile face masks are optional for this class, they are required on the shopping floor at the Coop every Wednesday from 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM. We encourage members, guests, and staff to bring a mask; however, masks are not required to attend this class. The Coop does have disposable masks available at the entrance desk upon request.RECORDINGThis class is hosted in person AND online. The class will be recorded and live-streamed to virtual attendees. By entering the classroom at the Coop, you consent to be photographed and/or recorded by the Park Slope Coop Cooking Class Squad during the event. Your image, voice, and likeness may appear in on-demand recordings of this cooking class, which may be shared on YouTube and other online platforms for educational and promotional purposes.
