Mindfulness Class for Children with Jane Weedon, PTMS
Specifically designed for children ages 7 and up, this class will incorporate mindful meditation techniques with body and sensory awareness activities, enhancing the body/mind connection. Learning and practicing mindfulness can help increase a sense of calm, reduce impulsiveness, identify feelings, improve attention, body awareness, and generally feel better.
Each week will focus on a thematic mindful practice enhanced by body and sensory awareness techniques, incorporating a creative project to reinforce the lesson. Plus, a handout page will be provided with each week’s activity so at the end of the 10 sessions participants will have their own workbook to keep!
The 50 minute class will be held once a week, from mid March through May. Class size is kept to a _maximum_ of 8 participants to allow for personal attention. In addition a one time evening class will be held for parents only, to learn some of the meditation and body and sensory awareness activities.
Cost: $250 for 10 week series & 1 parent class. Plus a $25 materials fee (total cost $275)

*This class is not a behavior management class. Participates must be able to participate in all activities, follow directions and be co-operative. If you think your child could benefit from mindfulness but may have difficulty in a class setting, individual sessions may be arranged.*
