Virtuosity is more than a glorious attribute of performance. It becomes a generative force.Computers are deployed not only to transform instrumental sound, but to analyze details and aspects of each pianist's performance in real time, applying collected data to modulate the electronic sound world. These dynamic transforms embed within a piece its own performance history, evolving from one interpretation to the next.The concert makes unprecedented use of Steinway’s Spirio|r technology, here transformed into a vital and unique part of the composition and performance. Perhaps never before have three of these exceedingly rare Steinway concert grand pianos been in one space – and heard together.In the first half of the program, get used to it man thats the way we live now unfolds over the course of 180 fragments played without interruption by the five pianists moving from one piano to another. At various times during the performance, experimental works by Scriabin are interpolated without warning within the fabric of the Kriesberg work.After intermission, the five pianists open with Scriabin works from the composer's earlier output.
