Wu holds an MFA in Metal and Jewelry Design from Rochester Institute of Technology, and a BA in Jewelry Art Design with a Dual Degree in Fashion Design and Engineering from Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology. Her work explores the integration of fashion, art, and craft, challenging the boundaries between these disciplines. Dongyi has been awarded numerous residencies including at Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Contemporary Craft, and the Baltimore Jewelry Center. She has exhibited worldwide, including at Schmuck 2018, Joya Barcelona, and in seven solo shows including at Taidekeskus Itä Gallery (Finland) and A-Galerii (Estonia). Her work has been featured in publications such as New Brooches: 400+ Contemporary Jewellery Designs.
