Today we lean on them as our teachers.Dial-an-Ancestor is a public hotline that routes us towards ourselves and each other. This workshop borrows that logic: flowers as a line of transmission between what was, what is, and what will compost back into the ground.Choose a plant or flower from one of six baskets. Each plant/ flower is inspired by Brower Park and has generated a writing prompt. Sit together, journal, then press or arrange your flower as you write as guided by your inner voice, your ancestors and each other.We’ll then land two or three sentences true enough to say aloud. Then together we’ll record - our words layered together. Because small, consensual brushes with mortality are also brushes with aliveness.
