She grew up in Canton, MI. Before entering the convent, she studied Zoology at Michigan State, was a missionary working with youth in Detroit, and also has worked many animal care jobs. She entered in 2021. She is currently serving as the Vocations Assistant and living at the Motherhouse near Steubenville, OH.Sr. Philomena Clare is part of the community of Franciscan Sisters, T.O.R. of Penance, of the Sorrowful Mother. During her time in community, Sr. Philomena Clare DeHitta, has been involved in several ministries including retreat ministry, service with the poor, pastoral ministry, music ministry, and campus ministry at Franciscan University's Study Abroad program in Gaming, Austria. She currently serves as the Vocation Director for her community and absolutely loves accompanying women as they discover their God given vocation!This retreat is a combined opportunity hosted by both the Archdiocese of Detroit and the Diocese of Lansing.Questions?
