Create Your Own Social Media Filter
This class, led by former Technology Resident Ziv Schneider, will focus on making interactive art for social media, also known as face filters, effects, or lenses. Participants will learn to program augmented reality effects like face tracking, plane tracking and gesture recognition to create masks using SparkAR Studio. By the end of the class, participants will learn how to publish their works to Facebook, Instagram or Snapchat, where people can engage with them through their phone cameras.
Materials: Participants are required to bring their own phones and Mac OSX laptop.
Audience: Knowledge of Photoshop and/or 3D software experience preferred.
Ziv Schneider is a New York-based multimedia artist who synthesizes various design practices to explore how new technologies enrich narratives with spatialization and interaction. Her work resides at the intersection of documentary, video games and volumetric photography. She received her master’s degree in 2015 from NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program, where she worked as a research fellow and adjunct professor.
