# Event Details - **Event Name**: Brooklyn Lakeside Curling Club 2025-26 Winter Rookie League Level Up - **Event Start and End Date**: Wed, 18 Feb, 2026 at 08:00 pm – Wed, 11 Mar, 2026 at 10:30 pm - **Event Description**: Join NYC’s only curling community for a four-week instructional rookie league!About this EventThis Level Up version of our popular Rookie League will focus on building intermediate skills, going beyond the basics with more game play, strategy, and overall taking things to the next level. It's the perfect next step if you've already done a Rookie League or even just a Try Curling class and are looking to keep playing more games with the added bonus of continued instruction.The league format is largely the same as the regular Rookie League with four (4) weeks of friendly, 90-minute games with the addition of weekly coaching for skills and strategy, conducted by BLCC instructors. We'll be skipping the intro Try Curling class on week one so curlers can get straight into playing games. However, instructors will be available during league play to work separately with anyone who has never curled before or needs a refresher on the basics.Complimentary beer and water is provided for outdoor "broomstacking" after games.You may sign up as an individual or with your friends. Your ticket is good for one (1) single player (NOT a full team). If you would like to sign up as a team, each of your teammates must complete their own individual registration and each purchase a ticket.Who can join: Rookie League Level Up is open to curlers of all experience levels, but ideally you've curled on the ice at least once before. All ages 21 and up, all genders, all everything else, are very welcome.Setup and Takedown: BLCC is an all-volunteer club. Curlers will be required to be at the ice at the listed start time each week for sheet setup and ice prep which will allow us to have a timely start and insure that we get in our full 1.5 hours of game play.Team Selection: If you have already formed a team, please make a note of your team members’ names in the "team notes" box when checking out. If you do not have a team, or have less than a full team, indicate so in the ‘team notes’ box when checking out. Be sure to include whether you have 1, 2, or 3 additional players, and indicate your number of years of curling. Note that your ticket is good for one (1) single player, so if you have teammates, they must each complete their own individual registration and purchase their own ticket. Players signing up without a team will be assigned to one after registration closes.All player slots are first come first served, so if you want to make sure your whole team is signed up, have all your teammates sign up at the same time. Our events often sell out in a matter of days. If you go on to curl in the Winter league this season, the $75 annual insurance & dues fee will not be added for any additional 2025-2026 league registrations. to gain access to additional benefits and eligibility to attend USAC trainings and competitions. The USCA dues collected are for the overall club's membership, not for each player's individual membership. We encourage BLCC club members to sign up for an individual USCA membership to gain access to additional benefits and eligibility to attend USAC trainings and competitions.REFUNDS : There are no refunds for league registrations.Weather Cancellations: Because the Lakeside rink is only partially covered, we occasionally must cancel due to extreme weather conditions. If there is a weather cancellation, BLCC will make its best effort to extend the league season by one week on the same night and time to compensate.
