Autumn brings with it windy days and colder nights, and as we watch the leaves on the trees dry out and fly through the air the same is happening for us. Sometimes it feels as though our lives have a strong wind coming right through the middle scattering our thoughts and wreaking havoc. We can lose focus becoming more forgetful, feel more anxious and overwhelmed, and all of a sudden that summer glow is traded in for dry itchy skin. No need to panic because it is AYURVEDA TO THE RESCUE!

Ayurveda is known as the Indian Life Science, an ancient holistic system of wellness that is the sister of Yoga. Ayurveda helps us understand the natural order of things and offers us simple strategies to be in alignment with nature and in keeping with our own unique balance. Vata is the word used in Ayurveda to describe the ways in which the elements Air and Space influence our living — some for good and some which can be de-stabilizing and turbulent.

AYURVEDA MAGIC VATA EDITION workshop for soothing Vata will be my modern, practical and fun approach using the time-tested tools of Ayurveda to find soothing and calm during the wind-blown “Vata Season” of fall and early winter.

In this workshop you will
— Learn what Vata is and how it shows up in our living, including what Vata “out of balance” means
— Fill out a personal analysis form to discover where and how your living is affected by Vata imbalances
— Once we are clear on what Vata is and how it is showing up in each of us personally, we will practice (some) and discuss (all) various techniques for soothing Vata imbalances such as:
- breathing / pranayama
- yoga poses
- skin care
- structuring your day
- foods to eat and avoid
- practical Vata-soothing activities and rituals
— We will also make and eat an Ayurvedic recipe (vegan) for soup to warm and calm Vata energy. When you leave you’ll be able to repeat and expand on this recipe all fall/winter however it vibes with you!

WHERE: This workshop will be hosted in my home in Ditmas Park, Brooklyn (also known as Liz’s Super Spiritual Roofdeck). Once you sign up I will send you the address

WHEN: Monday, October 30th 6-9pm

WHO: I can accommodate 15 people for this workshop. No yoga experience necessary. All are welcome! Please feel free to forward to friends, but keep in mind that anyone you invite will be a guest in my home — I trust your judgment
