Founded in 1970, The Feminist Press aims to create a world where everyone recognizes themselves in a book. Publishing books that ignite movements and social transformation, The Feminist Press seeks to champion intersectional and nuanced works that spark much-needed dialogue and move the feminist conversation forward.Tonight, three of their authors come together for a rich conversation exploring sex and desire outside of society's usual norms and scripts, including: Sarah Fonseca, author of The New Lesbian Pulp, a collection of reinvented queer pulp fiction by writers like Sarah Schulman and Lorraine Hansberry that’s so edgy it draws blood; Megan Milks, author of Mega Milks: Essays on Family, Fluidity, Whiteness, and Cows, a sparkling, funny, and often wrenching portrait-in-essays on the dairy industry, queer intimacy, family, fluidity, whiteness, and cows; and M.K Thekkumkattil, author of The Sexuality of Care: On Nursing, Kink, and a Future Without Hospitals, a unique, conversation-starting essay collection about critical care work, kink practices, and how one might transform the other. Fonseca, Milks, and Thekkumkattil discuss their books with The Feminist Press' editorial director Jeanne Thornton, before an audience Q&A and signing.Greenlight Bookstore is ADA accessible, including a permanent access ramp and all-gender bathroom.
