19K422 Values-Driven Pedagogy
Maintaining a Culture of Continuous Learning
About the School
Spring Creek Community School is a growing 6-12 Title I school located in the East New York neighborhood of Brooklyn. The school places a great emphasis on public and lifelong learning. They believe their students are entitled to an education that supports them in becoming empowered, independent, and compassionate thinkers and enables them to be successful in whatever path they choose. At Spring Creek Community School, students not only learn, they “do,” and they develop the real-life skills and habits that prepare them to be successful in the real world.
About the Visit
At this Showcase, visitors will learn how Spring Creek uses their shared values to build a culture of collaboration, communication, and learning. Visitors will learn about and participate in the professional learning structures that drive the staff's development in restorative practices, sustain a strong professional learning community, and distribute leadership. At the end of the day, visitors will have the opportunity to think about how to incorporate this work into their own practice.
