Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with a signed parent consent form), weigh 110 lbs or more and be in good general health. Donors should eat and drink plenty of fluids prior to donating blood and must bring a valid ID with them at the time of donation.

A valid photo ID will now be required at the time of donation. Acceptable forms of ID include:

- Driver's license
- State ID 
- Employee ID with photo
- School ID with photo
- Passport
- Military ID
- Immigration and Naturalization Service card (green card)
- Community Blood Bank donor card (that tracks donations)
